These buildings were described as a Temperance Hotel and Temperance Hall in Easton's Directory of 1845 but the hotel was listed as occupied by John Watkinson, foundry, on the 1855 Watson map and the hall as former Temperance Hall. Albion Foundry, cast the metal for the water wheel in Devonshire Mill. The site was later occupied by Kay and Backhouse and then by Burgess', an agricultural supplies firm, for some years before it was demolished |
