Le Creusot Raid

This series of Photographs of Halifaxes from Pocklington which took part in the raid on the Schneider armaments factory and the Breuil steelworks at Le Creusot in France

This article is taken from a supplement printed by the Pocklington Post in Easter 1993 entitled 'G-George'.

Le Creusot Raid on 19th June, 1943

About 10pm in the last streaks of daylight, Halifaxes with their engines idling await the general light from the flarepath caravan.

Senior officers and other well wishers stood by the flarepath caravan to wave off the departing Halifaxes.
